Whilst most of us struggle to get out of bed in the morning, Estelle, our payroll manager, is running half Marathons in aid of our chosen charity, Willen Hospice! It’s her first half marathon and she wanted to make it count! Estelle hasn’t been running all that long so this is a really amazing achievement and we are all very proud of her.

“This was my first Half Marathon (Milton Keynes Winter Half), I started running with Redway Runners in January 2018 as a complete beginner who couldn’t even run for 30 seconds!!  I’ve worked my way up through 5k, 8k and 10k distance races.

As National Locums/Locum People support Willen Hospice I decided I would run for them as I felt this was a big distance for me to run and it would be good for someone to benefit from it. As many people have, I have also experienced the heartache of cancer this year with close friends and family, although none have used this facility. My colleagues, friends and family have all been very supportive with their donations.  I also baked some cakes and did a cake sale in the office for which they were also very supportive.  I’ve raised a total of £506.15 (with giftaid included)

It was a tough day, weather-wise, as the wind was cold and there were way too many hills for my liking!! But I did it and got a nice shiny medal  at the end.”

She did brilliantly and we hope it inspires others to get their running shoes on!
