A charity auction and curry night held at the Naidni Indian restaurant in Stony Stratford, Buckinghamshire on Thursday (10 April) gave Milton Keynes recruitment company National Locums’ charity appeal a £1,175 lift off.
The company, which supplies locum doctors to NHS and independent hospitals throughout the UK, has set a target of raising £6,750 for Leo’s Appeal, the fundraising drive for the children’s ward at Milton Keynes General Hospital.
All 27 members of staff have signed up to climb Ben Nevis in June as the centrepiece of the company’s charity drive, which is being supported by a programme of activity launched with Thursday’s auction at Naidni.
Among the items up for bid were a football boot signed by England and Spurs legend Glenn Hoddle, Manchester United and Spurs signed pennants and items donated by local companies and individuals.
“It was a terrific evening, and a great start to our fundraising campaign. We’d like to offer huge thanks to Naidni and all the local companies who donated.”
They included Estelle Sherman, Lilah Rose, MK Lightning, Naidni, Jill Foster Dance Centre, Laquer Talent Nails, Matt Mitchell, Bryerley Springs Riding School, Nilam Patel Dermaspa and Luke Golson.
The next event in the company’s charity programme is a collection at the Kingston shopping centre, Milton Keynes on 26 and 27 April.
