Europe

With increasing numbers of doctors leaving Britain for new jobs abroad and a shortage of nurses, Milton Keynes-based medical recruitment agency National Locums is embarking on a major European campaign to find top quality replacements.

“We’re crucially aware that the NHS faces challenging times in recruiting and retaining doctors and nurses”, says National Locums managing director David Cook, “so we’re taking our team to major recruitment fairs across Europe, as well as throughout the UK.

“We know there are many medical professionals around the world who want to work in the NHS, which is recognised globally for its excellent quality standards.”

National Locums will be recruiting doctors, nurses and allied healthcare professionals at European events in Portugal (June 6, Porto, June 7, Lisbon); Spain (June 13, Barcelona, June 14, Madrid); Greece (June 20, Thessaloniki, June 21, Athens); and Poland (June 27, Cracow, June 28, Warsaw).

In addition, the company has a full calendar of exhibitions in the UK, including The Royal College of Psychiatrists International Congress (June 29-July 2, Birmingham) and the BMJ Careers Fair (October 23 and 24, London).

Practitioners attending these events are invited to visit the National Locums stand, and discover some of the UK’s most exciting career opportunities.

National Locums is one of Britain’s fastest-growing and most dynamic medical recruitment agencies. In the past 12 months, the company has found work for more than 4,000 doctors, and has regular assignments from 212 hospitals across the country.

During that period, the company also won coveted NHS audit Platinum status for the second year running, and added four new NHS Framework (preferred supplier) awards to its roster.
