Never mind the Weather! National Locums raises more than £1,000 for Oxford Children’s Hospital
It was windy and rainy, but a little unseasonal weather couldn’t put the dampeners on a team of seven runners from Milton Keynes medical recruitment agency National Locums, who all completed the Ox5Run, the annual fundraising event for Oxford Children’s Hospital, on Sunday, 29 March.
The team raised more than £1,000 in sponsorship funds for the hospital, which the company has nominated as its 2015 charity as part of its corporate social responsibility programme.
The Oxford Children’s Hospital is one of only a handful of purpose-built, specialist centres for children in the UK. It is very close to the hearts of National Locums directors Jen and David Cook whose children Evan and Jessica have been treated at the hospital, as has Riley, son of directors Natalie and Glenn Cook.
The Ox5 Run takes a five mile course through the grounds of Blenheim Palace, and this year attracted more than 1,000 runners.
It was the first in National Locums’ 2015 programme of fundraising events, and the company is aiming to beat the £7,000 it raised last year for the Milton Keynes Hospital children’s unit.
