Youngsters at Stony Stratford’s renowned Myra Tiffin Performing Arts School are dancing on air, thanks to a sponsorship gift from Milton Keynes medical recruitment company National Locums.
The company has purchased smart branded jackets for the school’s competition team, 30 dancers aged nine to 17 who compete in dance competitions around the UK.
The world of competition dancing is fiercely competitive, with up to 1,000 dancers performing in competitions such as Starpower International and Destination Dance. One Myra Tiffin dancer has qualified to perform in Paris later this year, while seven of the school’s students went to New York last year for a week of intensive dance tuition.
Says National Locums Events and Marketing Manager Nicola Cook: “We’re really pleased to offer our support to the Myra Tiffin school, which is doing great work at supporting bright young talent. This sponsorship is part of our Corporate Social Responsibility programme, which has seen us stage fundraising events to benefit hospitals and provide kit to local youth football teams.”
Adds Myra Tiffin’s artistic director Rosina Andrews: “We’re hugely grateful for National Locums’ support, and our young dancers are thrilled with their new uniform.”
