The people at Milton Keynes-based medical recruitment agency spend their days finding locum doctors, nurses and allied healthcare professionals for hospitals across the UK. On Sunday (26 March), they got a bit more physical in aid of Oxford Children’s Hospital!
A team of 12 from National Locums took part in the Ox5 run, an annual five mile run in aid of the hospital through the grounds of Blenheim Palace, which this year attracted more than 1,000 runners.
It was the third year running that the company had entered a team for the run, and together they raised £1,300, the latest success in the company’s annual corporate social responsibility programme.
National Locums’ events and marketing manager Nicola Cook said: “It was a beautiful day, and there was a really buzzy atmosphere. We’re so pleased that we were able to raise so much from colleagues and friends.”
The Oxford Children’s Hospital is one of only a handful of purpose-built, specialist centres for children in the UK. It is very close to the hearts of National Locums directors Jen and David Cook whose children Evan and Jessica have been treated at the hospital, as has Riley, son of directors Natalie and Glenn Cook.
