Intensivist Physician Required, South Wales, Long Term Contract

The post is to start 3rd October 2022 but the trust is flexible on start date. It will involve working Mon – Fri, without oncalls

To be considered for the role, you will need to meet the following criteria;

• Must have Respiratory/Cardiology/Stroke experience
• NHS experience is a must
• Clinics & CCU ward rounds
• Negotiable rates & payment models
• Consultation with the Lead can be arranged

It is an 8 bed CCU shared with Stroke so the maximum number of cardiology patients is 8. We usually are accompanied by one of our registrars when we go round, but sometimes both are on other duties, in which case we go round with the nursing staff. We write in the notes and drug charts ourselves and order some tests ourselves, such as Radiology tests. The nursing staff can order all Cardiology tests, and bloods.

Clinics are from 0900 to 1300 or 1400 to 1700. They are a mixture of new and follow up patients, with timings as per the BCS template.  All cardiology conditions are seen except Adult Congenital Heart Disease (which has separate clinics). We are supported by the Clinical Investigation Department staff.
