Overview
We are seeking an experienced Locum Consultant in Elderly Care Medicine to join a high-performing and supportive team within a well-established Health & Social Care Trust in Northern Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity for a consultant with a passion for high-quality geriatric care to provide leadership across acute and community settings.
You’ll work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive geriatric assessments, support frailty pathways, and contribute to improving patient flow and outcomes for older adults.
Key Responsibilities

Provide consultant-led care for elderly patients in acute, rehabilitation, and/or frailty units

Participate in MDT meetings and support advanced care planning

Lead on the management of complex comorbidities and polypharmacy review

Support service development in frailty, dementia care, and integrated community pathways

Participate in on-call rota (if required)

Provide clinical supervision and teaching to junior medical staff and allied health professionals
Essential Requirements

Full GMC registration with a licence to practise

CCT in Geriatric Medicine (or CESR equivalence)

Previous consultant or senior specialty doctor-level experience in Elderly Care
-
Right to work in the UK

Up-to-date mandatory training and safeguarding
