Permanent Consultant Neuroradiologist – North Midlands

The Radiology department based in an NHS trust in the North Midlands are looking for a Consultant in Neuroradiology to join them on a permanent or NHS fixed term basis.

The team consists of 7 Neuroradiologists in a busy, dynamic department of 48 WTE radiology Consultants delivering emergency and non-acute services. They are a level 1 Trauma Centre and support the acute stroke mechanical thrombectomy service 24/7. The ideal Consultant will be involved in allied acute imaging and also support a network of regional services.

Currently, they provide advanced imaging to support trauma, oncology, stroke, spine, dementia, ENT and Max Fax services. They also have support from the clinical scientists to perform and improve specialist MRI for brain tumour, stroke etc. Planned service developments include thyroid nodule US guided microwave ablation.

Equipment:

• 8 CT scanners
• 7 MR scanners (3 3T scanners, one 3 T is dedicated to do more neuro imaging including functional, spectroscopy and DTI).
• 1 biplane Fluro intervention suite for neuro intervention, 2 single plane for the other vascular interventions.
• 25 ultrasound rooms.

• GMC license to practise.
• NHS experience in Head and Neck Radiology.
• Specialist registration in Radiology is essential for a permanent position.
