A career in recruitment with National Locums promises fast-paced, rewarding work within a supportive team environment.
Whether you are a graduate looking for that first job after leaving uni, or a school leaver wanting an apprenticeship, we have the right opportunities for people who are enthusiastic, motivated and hard working.
So what does a recruiter do?
National Locums is one of the country’s leading suppliers of locum doctors to NHS and independent hospitals.
Often, hospitals don’t have the time and resources to undertake their own recruitment. So they come to us, and we match our database of doctors to their requirements, and provide them with fully qualified temporary doctors to support their full-time medical staff.
Our team includes resourcers, who find new doctors to add to our database; consultants who manage relationships with the hospitals and match locums to vacancies; and specialists, including compliance officers ensuring that our doctors meet General Medical Council and NHS standards.
What qualifications do I need?
Energy and commitment, above all. While a degree may lead to swifter promotion within the organisation, some of our high flyers joined straight from school.
What can I earn?
There is a career ladder for everyone from junior resourcer and consultant to team leader and principal consultant, benchmarked with individual goals and linked to a salary + bonus + benefits package.
In short, the harder you work and the more successful you are, the greater the rewards, not just in terms of pay, but also the job satisfaction of being part of a great team.
How about training?
We have a comprehensive CPD, training and employee support package, geared to each individual’s talents, including access to the REC Certificate of Recruitment Practice and external sales courses.
….and the social side?
We believe our people should enjoy their career with National Locums, and so we have a lively programme of staff activities, including quarterly social events, and a great corporate responsibility programme. This year we all climbed Ben Nevis to raise funds for our local hospital!
What is the working environment like?
Great, including a chillout zone with TV, X-box consoles, a choice of music and a breakfast area. As a result of our company’s growth, we moved into to brand new offices in summer, 2014.
