Throughout June (and a tiny bit of May) we embarked on our #5KforWillen fundraising campaign for Willen Hospice. We challenged our staff, families, friends and followers to help us raise vital funds for this amazing cause, thatʼs so close to all of our hearts, here in our home town of Milton Keynes.
Willen Hospice gives constant care in a friendly, peaceful environment where patients, coming to the end of their lives, and their loved ones, can really make the most of their time left together. 80% of their funding is made by donations and fund raising, with the recent Covid-19 pandemic, fund raising has been severely impacted and without these regular donations, they could no longer operate!
We wanted to help as much as we could, by challenging each other to run, walk, horse ride, skip or even roller-skate a 5K and make a donation, get friends and family to sponsor their efforts or challenge their friends to get involved too.
Weʼve had all sorts going on here in the office, such as cooked breakfasts to raise money, online poker tournaments, horse riders, joggers, family walkers, even a rescheduled wedding fun run (in full wedding attire!) and much more, all pulling together to get fit and raise funds.
We are so proud to announce that we have managed to raise a staggering £3048 and we have now handed over the cheque to Willen Hospice (pictured).
Thank you to everyone that took part and helped us with this challenge. It will make a huge difference and we know it has been greatly received.
