We are currently seeking a qualified Children’s Social Worker with a minimum of one year’s post-qualifying experience to join our Children in Need Team in the Channel Islands.

Our vision is simple: children and young people are safe, able to overcome difficulties, and supported to build secure relationships throughout childhood and into adulthood. We are seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join our Children in Need Team, delivering high-quality, relationship-based practice to children and families across the Bailiwick.

The Role

As a Social Worker within the Children in Need Team, you will:

  • Hold a caseload of Children in Need and Care Requirement cases

  • Undertake timely child and family assessments

  • Develop, implement and review Child’s Plans using evidence-based interventions

  • Act as Lead Professional within the Team Around the Child model

  • Work in partnership with families and multi-agency professionals

  • Prepare reports and represent the service at meetings, panels, Court and Tribunal

  • Respond to child protection concerns and implement robust protection plans

  • Participate in duty and Emergency Duty Service rotas

  • Engage in regular supervision and continuous professional development

You will play a key role in ensuring children remain central to all planning and decision-making.

About You

You will have:

  • A recognised Social Work qualification (DipSW, Degree, CQSW or equivalent)

  • Registration with Social Work England

  • At least one year post-qualifying experience in children’s social care

  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and relevant legislation

  • Experience completing evidence-based assessments and joint investigations

  • The ability to work effectively within multi-agency settings

  • A clean, current driving licence
