Private Rehab/Old Age Consultant – South West – Part Time

Hi there! We’re National Locums, a warm, dedicated team specialising in mental health and rehabilitation for older adults. We believe in supporting people to live well, with dignity and purpose — bringing together psychiatry, rehab, nursing, OT, physio and care-home/community services.

Now we’re looking for someone just like you: a consultant psychiatrist who’s experienced in the world of older-age mental health and rehabilitation, and keen to make a real difference.

What we’re looking for

• You’re full GMC-registered with a licence to practise, and you’re on (or about to join) the Specialist Register in Psychiatry (Older Age Psychiatry) or you’re working towards it.
• You’ve got solid experience in older-age psychiatry and/or rehab psychiatry in a complex setting.
• You’re a strong communicator and a real team-player: you build relationships easily with patients, families, and across multiple disciplines.
• You know the mental-health legislation relevant for older adults (e.g., the MHA, the MCA) and you’re comfortable with governance and quality-assurance processes.
• You’re committed to development — yours and the service’s — and comfortable working in a private-sector setting or willing to learn that side of things.
