An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Locum Associate Specialist in Ophthalmology to join a well-established NHS Trust in Surrey on a 3-month contract. This role offers a structured weekday schedule within a supportive and forward-thinking ophthalmology department.

The Role

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary ophthalmology team delivering high-quality patient care across outpatient clinics, treatment services, and theatre sessions (depending on experience and service need).

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct general ophthalmology outpatient clinics

  • Manage acute and chronic ophthalmic conditions

  • Deliver intravitreal injection clinics where appropriate

  • Assess and manage AMD and glaucoma patients

  • Perform minor and/or intermediate ophthalmic procedures (depending on skillset)

  • Maintain accurate clinical records in line with Trust policies

  • Work collaboratively with consultants, specialty doctors, nursing staff, and AHPs

Requirements

  • Full GMC registration with licence to practise

  • Must have relevant experience in General Ophthalmology, AMD, Glaucoma, and Intravitreal Injections

  • Previous NHS experience preferred

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Strong communication and organisational skills

Contract Details

  • Duration: 3 months

  • Working pattern: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 16:30

  • Potential for extension
