Paediatric SpR needed for long-term jobs in the Lancashire region

Specialist Registrar (SPR) – Paediatrics

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Paediatrics Specialty Registrar (SPR) to join a busy and supportive paediatric department. This is an excellent opportunity for a doctor with experience in general paediatrics to work within a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality care to infants, children and young people across a broad range of clinical settings.

The successful candidate will be involved in the assessment, diagnosis and management of acute and chronic paediatric conditions, supporting both inpatient and outpatient services. You will work alongside experienced consultants and allied healthcare professionals, contributing to the delivery of safe, effective and patient-centred care.

Key responsibilities will include participation in ward rounds, outpatient clinics, emergency paediatric admissions, neonatal support, and multidisciplinary team working. The role offers excellent opportunities to further develop clinical skills, gain valuable experience across a diverse case mix, and contribute to teaching, audit and quality improvement initiatives.

Key Requirements

  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
  • Previous NHS experience in Paediatrics preferred
  • Experience working at Specialty Registrar level or equivalent
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
  • Ability to manage acute paediatric presentations and medical emergencies
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to high standards of patient care and clinical governance
