The post holder will manage a specialist caseload of ADHD clients including those with co-morbidities across channel Islands within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service.
The post holder will work closely with the other members of the ADHD team in:
- Providing initial assessment
- ongoing monitoring
- care management to this specialist group
- The assessment of generic specialist CAMHS referrals
- plan, implement and evaluate their treatment accordingly
Responsibility for Patient/Service User Care
1. Be a key member of the ADHD multidisciplinary team, progressing to Neurodevelopmental multidisciplinary team. Working collaboratively with Consultant Psychiatrists and other health profession
2. Work closely with members of the integrated neurodevelopmental pathway team in developing, implementing, and monitoring services provided to children, young people, and their families.
3. Maintain relevant pharmaceutical knowledge, critically appraise, and apply information in practice.
4. Provide direct expert nursing judgement and treatment interventions based on highly developed skills as well as knowledge regarding clinical management and educational management of the children and young people with ADHD.
To coordinate the assessment of patients/service users with complex needs including individuals with unconfirmed diagnosis.
6. To coordinate the development, implementation, and evaluation of specialised programs of care utilising evidence and research.
7. To ensure patient/service user involvement in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of care, respecting their beliefs and dignity
8. To utilise data and information from a range of sources to identify patients’/service users’ conditions to guide decision making.
9. To undertake the role of health promoter and educator for patients/service users and their support network
10. To ensure that professional standards are upheld by the staff members working within the postholder’s sphere of responsibility
11. To be accountable for ensuring that safeguards are in place for patients/service users and escalate any safety, safeguarding or risk concerns following the appropriate processes.
12. Participation in a Single Point of Access (SPOA) for integrated neurodevelopmental disorder referrals and triage of such.
13. Involvement in joint neurodevelopmental (typically ADHD+ASD) assessment.
14. Participation in delivery of diagnosis and post diagnostics for single and joint/complex neurodevelopmental presentation
