Inpatient General Adult Consultant Psychiatrist – South Wales

Based with one of our long running NHS clients you will be working in an inpatient unit in a General Adult role. As a Responsible Clinician for all Newport inpatients (18 beds), you will be part of a well-established and highly skilled multidisciplinary team motivated to create a safe and therapeutic environment.
Based near to the ward, the post holder will be required to ensure all admissions are assessed and reviewed in a timely manner and relevant reports are completed within defined timescales, though there is no on-call commitment.
The ward benefits from both staff grade and junior doctor provision in addition to a physician associate and ANP, with dedicated psychology and peer mentor input. Working closely with the local CMHTs and community consultant colleagues on discharge pathways is a key aspect of the role.

Applicants must be Section 12, AC Approved for Wales and should have evidence of good communication skills and a commitment to multi-disciplinary working environment.
