Specialist Registrar in Breast Surgery – Princess Royal Hospital

Position: Specialist Registrar in Breast Surgery
Location: West Midlands
Contract Type: Fixed-Term Contract
Hours: Full-Time, with 1 in 6 On-Call Rota
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: End of June 2023

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Specialist Registrar in Breast Surgery to join our team in the West Midlands. This is a fixed-term contract starting immediately and running until the end of June 2023. The successful candidate will also be required to cover General Surgery on call, participating in a 1 in 6 on-call rota.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality care and management for patients undergoing breast surgery.
  • Assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of breast cancer patients.
  • Perform a range of breast surgical procedures under the supervision of senior consultants.
  • Participate in General Surgery on-call duties as part of a 1 in 6 rota.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
  • Contribute to clinical audits, research, and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Medical degree and full GMC registration.
  • Specialist training in Breast Surgery.
  • Experience in General Surgery is essential.
  • Strong clinical and surgical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and education.
