About the Service
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join a specialist male inpatient service supporting adults with dementia, Huntington’s disease, and other complex neuropsychiatric or cognitive conditions.
The service provides high-quality, person-centred care for individuals presenting with behavioural challenges or co-existing physical and mental health needs. Our multidisciplinary team includes psychiatry, psychology, nursing, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and speech and language therapy, working collaboratively to promote recovery, dignity, and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities

Provide clinical leadership for the ward, ensuring high standards of psychiatric care and patient safety.

Conduct comprehensive assessments, treatment planning, and risk management for patients with neurodegenerative or cognitive disorders.

Chair weekly multidisciplinary meetings, CPA reviews, and best interest meetings.

Support staff with Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act compliance, including Section 12 and AC duties.

Liaise closely with families, community teams, and other professionals to ensure effective discharge planning and continuity of care.

Contribute to governance, clinical audit, and quality-improvement initiatives.
