An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Locum Associate Specialist in Ophthalmology to join a well-established NHS Trust in Surrey on a 3-month contract. This role offers a structured weekday schedule within a supportive and forward-thinking ophthalmology department.
The Role
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary ophthalmology team delivering high-quality patient care across outpatient clinics, treatment services, and theatre sessions (depending on experience and service need).
Key Responsibilities

Conduct general ophthalmology outpatient clinics

Manage acute and chronic ophthalmic conditions

Deliver intravitreal injection clinics where appropriate

Assess and manage AMD and glaucoma patients

Perform minor and/or intermediate ophthalmic procedures (depending on skillset)

Maintain accurate clinical records in line with Trust policies

Work collaboratively with consultants, specialty doctors, nursing staff, and AHPs
Requirements

Full GMC registration with licence to practise

Must have relevant experience in General Ophthalmology, AMD, Glaucoma, and Intravitreal Injections

Previous NHS experience preferred

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong communication and organisational skills
